Alpha Group autumn 2006

The Alpha Course

We’re delighted to announce that we’re running the Alpha Course again every Tuesday from 22nd April – 24th June 2008. You would be most welcome wherever you are on your faith journey. If you are interested in attending please contact David Herbert on david-herbert@hotmail.co.uk or on 020 8864 7037.

Over 8 million people have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world.

Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.

It is low-key, friendly and fun – and is supported by all the main Christian denominations.

Each session begins at 7.15pm and ends at 9.30pm.

The sessions start with a meal together in a friendly and informal atmosphere. We then watch a dvd talk on an aspect of the Christian faith (e.g. “Why and how should I pray?”, “Who is Jesus?”, “How can I be sure of my faith?). For the last part of the evening we break into small groups of about 8 -10 people to share our opinions about the week’s subject.

We ran an Alpha Course here at RGFC, which began on 26th September and ran for 10 weeks finishing on 29th November 2006.
